Job Summary

ResilientTech Advisors is seeking a Legal Technology & Operations Consultant to deliver comprehensive AI adoption strategy for a leading nonpartisan legal nonprofit focused on democracy and voting rights. This high-visibility project will shape how a premier legal organization integrates AI while maintaining ethical obligations and client confidentiality. Contract Duration: 3-4 months (September – December 2025), Time Commitment: 5-7 hours/week, ~60-80 hours total.Ā Applications will be accepted until 11:59 p.m. EST on September 19, 2025.

Primary Responsibilities

Legal Technology Assessment (~50%)

  • Evaluate AI tools specific to legal practice (document review, legal research, drafting, case management)
  • Assess legal industry vendors and platforms for nonprofit suitability
  • Analyze integration opportunities with existing legal workflows
  • Conduct competitive analysis of legal AI adoption best practices

Legal Ethics & Compliance (~30%)

  • Develop frameworks for AI use within attorney-client privilege requirements
  • Create compliance protocols for client data protection in AI systems
  • Research bar association guidance and legal ethics rules for AI adoption
  • Design risk mitigation strategies for professional liability concerns

Stakeholder Engagement (~20%)

  • Conduct 6-8 stakeholder interviews with CLC legal staff and leadership
  • Facilitate needs assessment sessions with practice groups
  • Collaborate on written report and executive presentations
  • Present findings to CLC leadership team (1 in-person session in DC)

Required Skills & Qualifications

Legal Operations Experience:

  • 8+ years in legal operations, legal technology, or law firm management
  • Direct experience implementing technology solutions in legal environments
  • Understanding of legal workflows (litigation, policy work, regulatory compliance)
  • Knowledge of legal industry software ecosystem and vendors

AI/Technology Expertise:

  • Hands-on experience with legal AI tools (document review, research platforms, drafting tools)
  • Understanding of AI governance and risk management in professional services
  • Experience evaluating and selecting technology vendors for legal organizations
  • Knowledge of data privacy and security requirements for legal data

Nonprofit Sector Knowledge:

  • Experience working with or consulting for nonprofit organizations
  • Understanding of 501(c)(3) operational constraints and compliance requirements
  • Familiarity with nonprofit governance, board relations, and grant requirements
  • Knowledge of budget limitations and resource allocation in nonprofit settings

Communication & Consulting Skills:

  • Proven ability to conduct stakeholder interviews and needs assessments
  • Strong technical writing skills for formal reports and recommendations
  • Experience presenting to executive leadership and board members
  • Ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences

Preferred Qualifications

  • Legal degree (JD) or paralegal certification
  • Previous consulting experience with legal nonprofits or public interest law organizations
  • Knowledge of Campaign Legal Center’s mission and work areas
  • Experience with federal and state legal compliance requirements

Background in legal ethics, professional responsibility, or bar association work
